HydraNet announces Outlook integration for CRM-gx

Tokyo, Japan, Jan 6, 2003 8:53 AM PST -- HydraNet Corp. announced Tuesday that its online CRM solution now offers complete integration with Microsoft Outlook. The product, CRM-gx, is the only web-based CRM solution that offers complete integration with Microsoft Outlook Tasks, Calendar, Email, Contacts, and Windows Address Book (WAB).

"Integration with Outlook was the feature most companies were asking for," said Susan Winter, Senior Vice-President of Marketing for HydraNet. "Starting today, users can enter Tasks, Appointments, Email, and Contacts into Outlook and have them imported into CRM-gx at the click of a button."

Winter noted that this new functionality is particularly critical for email management. Many CRM vendors have found it difficult or impossible to wean users away from Microsoft Outlook, the downside being that critical email records with clients is stored in individual Outlook email boxes across the organization. This results in serious client information management problems.

"Until now, it's been virtually impossible a company to maintain a shared public record of client email," said Winter. "As a manager, if I want to see what email was sent to a particular account, I need to somehow gain access to the private Outlook email box of the Account Manager who sent the email. That Account Manager may have left the company, he may be taking sick leave. If there are several Account Managers, it becomes even more difficult to track account histories. Our new integration technology really makes these problems disappear."

Best of all, it's no longer necessary to force users to stop using Outlook to share email histories. Users continue using Microsoft Outlook, and email sent to the client remains in the Account Manager's Outlook email box. When CRM-gx integration features are activated, all email sent and received from client accounts is imported into CRM-gx and linked with the client record. Anyone who needs to know the history of email with a particular account can then simply locate the account and view the activity history. This works regardless of how many Account Managers are involved. The net result is a company can continue using Microsoft Outlook for email but the public record of activities is accessible to everyone who needs it.

As an option, privacy can also be maintained when required by setting a private flag on the email in CRM-gx.
